Fourteen years ago, I married my best friend. From our very first date, he has never stopped putting me before himself. He surprised me at our wedding rehearsal by revealing my 1966 Volkswagen Beetle he had restored for my wedding gift. He always finds ways to do things for me, even on his special days, when he’s supposed to be relaxing or enjoying himself, like on his birthday or Father’s Day. We’ve shared big dreams, traveled, celebrated successes, bought and restored homes, welcomed healthy babies, grieved over the death of loved ones. But through every sunrise and sunset, he has loved me more than himself. If only I could be so selfless. I’m celebrating my love and thankfulness for him today. I’m looking forward to making many more memories with this precious man, the love of my life.
