Wondering how to make super moist turkey? Start here! Nobody wants to eat a dry bird! These are step by step instructions for creating a brine to soak your turkey in to create a tender moist, pleasing main dish for your Thanksgiving feast!
Start with 1 gallon of vegetable broth.
Add a 1/2 cup of brown sugar.
Add a teaspoon of black peppercorns.
Stir, bring to a boil, then chill until ready to use, or within 48 hours.
Since it’s Tuesday, we will add the turkey, a gallon of ice and water, and the brine Wednesday evening, then let it soak overnight.
On Thursday we will take 1 chopped apple, 1 chopped onion, 1 cup of white wine and microwave it for 2 – 3 minutes. We will place that mixture into the turkey, the bake the turkey at 500 degrees fro 30 minutes. After that, we will place a tinfoil shield over the turkey breasts, then bake at 350 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 more hours. I will post more pictures as we go.
